Many of us think of our lives as boringly normal, while others live the high life. Take a step back, and take a look at your life as an outsider might.
Most of time we are living in an environment that being unique takes cost. Or say, it’s risky to be unique. We are used to be unique when we born; well, slowly changing and adapting to being “normal”, as most Asian are.
Seeing myself as an outsider, what’s might be far from normal is that I’m always on the way to pursue happiness. I’m trying to say “wish you happy everyday” to my friends whenever possible, since I value this most, going beyond all the other material things.
life is written in a magic book, what’s your choice? read it?
No, I won’t. It seems quite great as I can know everything about my life by reading the book. Then, I can do my best to avoid the mistakes and win a better life. However, since all my life is written in that book, which implies no matter how I struggle, strive for being better, I’ll eventually still lead a life which is written. So after a second thought, my answer is no.
The good thing about life is uncertainties. You’ll always never know what will happen in the future. How future can be difference with every decision we’ve made in the past. Taking myself for example, I’m a 3rd year phd student, without any paper published yet. I was starting wondering whether my decision for phd was correct or not. After some ups and downs, I then slowly realised that a guarantee e.g., a published highly ranked paper, or promised future, e.g,,those written in the magic book by an oracle, only makes life easier, or make ourselves confidence and happier. On the other hand, if we can have faith and confidence on ourselves, and keep an open mind, we can still be happy everyday rain or shine. If we can live happily independent of environment, we’ll become quite strong. In a nutshell, stay strong without any life-written book. 🙂
